Background
InterDev was founded in May 1980 (more than a year before the introduction of the IBM PC)

First and foremost, we’re a computer consulting firm.  That means we do Information Technology (IT) consulting.  We recommend, sell, install, and support, servers and networks.  That has been the core of our business.

Additionally, we do custom application development, typically .NET and web application development.

We also do communication consulting (Telecom) including VoIP phone systems, as well as voice and data circuits.  As Voice and Data continue to converge, we are well positioned to be the provider of choice for each.

InterDev had already been around more than a year before the IBM PC and clones came on the market in August of 1981.  We were there in the early days of networking with Novell, and transitioned as Microsoft networking took over.  For the first 27 years, the company was focused on “break/fix” work, meaning that when something went wrong, we were called in and we fixed the problem.  We provided general support in an “on call” basis.

Starting around 2007, we entered the Managed Services market, where we don’t wait for something to go wrong; instead we proactively monitor and manage to help prevent bad things from happening in the first place.  In this role, we keep systems up-to-date, deploying updates and patches at the right time with minimal disruption to your business.
Looking ahead, we’ll continue to make further investments in Managed Services and also in what’s coming to be known as “Cloud Computing” including:
  • Software as a Service (SAAS) where an application is hosted on a computer in a data center and made available as a subscription product with all the management handled by InterDev
  • Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) where InterDev provides the servers and then rents “time” on those servers, including disk space, backup services, anti-spam services, and so many other functions that have traditionally required an IT staff and a server room.  This is all simplified in a monthly services bill where you never have to worry about buying server hardware or software again, nor do you have to deal with the necessary maintenance of those products
  • Full helpdesk for all the supported systems and application
